English Courses
Before you commence formal studies in Australia, you may need to undertake English courses if you do not meet the English language proficiency entry requirements of the various institutions. There are different types of English courses that are available to meet your requirements.
General English
General English courses will help you to develop English language skills for everyday life. General English courses are built around the 4 core skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing. They help you to expand your vocabulary and develop your fluency and accuracy in spoken and written English. Upon completion of the General English courses, you should be able to understand and interact with native and non-native English speakers.
Generally, General English courses start every Monday. In addition to day classes, some schools also run evening classes.
English Placement Test
Before you commence your English course, you will be required to take an English placement test to determine your current level of English (such as Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced and son on). This allows you to be placed into the correct class suitable to your level of English.
Exam Preparation
IELTS Exam Preparation Course
Some institutions offer IELTS Exam Preparation course. This course will help you to improve your Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking skills and covers a range of IELTS exam techniques, time management and study tips to assist you to successfully achieve your desired score. This course is suitable for people who want to take an IELTS Exam to enrol in further studies or to meet migration English proficiency requirements.
